Let’s talk about ethics – What are they and what do they mean for us?
Almost every day we see discussion in all forms of media about honesty, acting fairly, abuse of power and corruption. At the March meeting David Thurley will use as series of anecdotes from his personal and business life to challenge you to think about the role of ethics in your business and private life.
Guest Speaker: David Thurley
David Thurley started his working life as a Research Scientist with a large Australian company and eventually became its technical manager responsible for all environmental matters as well as the implementation of multi-million dollar projects.
In a change of career he started his own consulting company specialising in the treatment of industrial wastewater and environmental management. Over many years this led him to work in several countries including Malaysia, Brazil, France, Canada, Greece, the USA and UK.
For several years David was also a dangerous goods consultant accredited by NSW WorkCover to authorise licences for factories and facilities in NSW.
Although retired now, David is an Albury City Councillor, National President of the Murray Darling Association and a member of the Murray Darling Basin Community Committee. In his spare time he does some volunteer science teaching in primary schools and amazes his grandchildren with scientific experiments.
